ABOUT PRIESTFIT
The Story
Fr Ryan Rooney and Fr Casey Jones launched Priestfit on January 1, 2017. Together they created a social media based network of Catholic priests who support each other while witnessing to others who struggle in the areas of health and fitness. The mission of Priestfit is to continue this forum of support, to share our stories and knowledge, and to advocate for a healthier Presbyterate in the Catholic Church.

Sunday Reflection: staying hydrated with living water

Give Yourself
"Command that these two sons of mine sit,
one at your right and the other at your left, in your kingdom.”
Jesus said in reply,
“You do not know what you are asking.
Can you drink the chalice that I am going to drink?”
As I proclaimed this gospel at mornin...

"Lord, it is good that we are here.”
Complacency is such a temptation. It’s a temptation the spiritual life. It’s easy to say “I’m in a good place.” I want to stay right here, where I am comfortable.” The same is true for our physical condition as well. I remember so o...

The Demand for a sign.
“This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign shall be given to it except the sign of Jonah.” Luke 11:29
We live in a world of instant gratification. When we want information, we have it immediately curiously of a supercomp...

"One does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God."
What truth is contained in this response to the ancient serpent who tempts Jesus and by extension his priests! Jesus restores the power to resist our food temptations by placi...

As we enter the fast of lent, and as we truly fast and abstain from meat today, we recall that food does have the power to ensnare and occupy our minds. Though we need it to live, it should not control us. Perhaps there is a binge food that gets you in trouble, or ther...
